6. To my mind the most significant events in Belarusian history are: the creation of Polotsk principality, Great Principality of Lithuania, Rech Pospolita, the annexion of the territory of Belarus to the Russian Empire, joining to the Soviet Union, the Great Patriotic War, and the Declaration of independence in the 1991.
7. You can see historical monuments and historic sites practically everywhere on the territory of Belarus. The most famous is the Khatyn memorial.
8. Yes I can. I remember such facts from British history as the Roman invasion, the Anglo-Saxon invasion, the invasion of Normans in 1066, the English Civil War headed by Oliver Cromwell.
9. Minsk was founded about 1067. In the 1547 a great fire destroyed the city. It was also destroyed during the Great Patriotic War. Minsk became the capital of Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic in 1920, and was proclaimed the capital of Republic of Belarus in 1991.
10. Yes, I have thought about becoming a historian. I consider history a very interesting and important science. I like reading historical books and watching historical feature films and documentaries. But later I realized that I like studying languages more and in the end I have decided to become an interpreter. But I am still interested in history.
