4. Most young people prefer big cities to villages and towns because cities have a lotto offer to young people. They offer better job and education opportunities, more places of interest and entertainment, busy nightlife, more people to meet. I would like to live in a big city. I enjoy nightlife, concerts and meeting new people. So I think living in a big city is just for me.

5. A typical Belarusian village today is much bigger than it was before. There are more shops with greater choice of goods and more places of social purpose, village clubs where different activities are held. A very typical characteristic of a Belarusian village is "agrogorodok", a place where young specialists live. Buildings that can be found almost in every village are schools, clubs for different activities. The average population of a Belarusian village is about 300 people.

6. I think small villages should be preserved. But the living conditions in the villages and the public transport should be improved.

7.1 have visited Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Kiev. I liked Saint Petersburg most of all. It is an incredibly beautiful city, full of amazing buildings representing architecture of the past and museums that are known all over the world. Due to the number of bridges and rivers, sometimes it's called Russian Venice. Many people complain about the climate of Saint Petersburg, but to my mind, the rainy and cold climate only adds to its charm.

Ex. 2. Выскажите свое мнение по следующим вопросам, обосновав

1.1 do think that people in the country are more polite than in a city, because first of all, people in a city are usually stressed more. They are in a hurry and become easily irritated. That's why they can be rude sometimes. In the country everything is much more peaceful and people don't get irritated easily. Secondly, people in the country usually have a strong sense of community, and that's why they treat each other in a nicer way.

2.1 do agree that everything is polluted nowadays, but I don't agree with the point that end of the world is near. The world community is preoccupied with the situation, and nowadays people try to do their best to preserve the environment. They are doing it even on the government level. Agood example of it is the Kyoto protocol, signed by many countries. According to the protocol, the countries that have signed it, will emit a certain amount of gases into the atmosphere, if they emit more, they should pay for it.

3.1 agree with the statement. People treat each other rude sometimes, especially in shops in our country. I think this happens because everybody thinks only about his own problems and doesn't care if his or her rudeness can hurt somebody. This problem is most acute in big cities, where people feel a great distance between them, but at the same time they create even more distance by their rudeness instead of being friendlier.

4.1 don't agree with the statement. Of course cars, television and computers have done a lot of bad things. But we can't deny that they brought us a lot of good too. Cars help us travel faster, television helps to learn new facts,
