Pupil 2: Wow! It is a rather creative profession, isn't it?

Pupil 1: Well, it's not as creative as a profession of designer or artist, but yes, it is rather creative. I like beautiful buildings, and I think it is rather exciting to create a project of a building, and then see that building in one of the streets of your town. The job is well-paid too.

Pupil 2: And what is your major ambition concerning your future job?

Pupil 1: Actually, I would be very glad if all projects of my buildings were realized and people would like them. But my secret dream is to build a large building resembling to a palace with many sculptures along its fagade. I would like this palace to become one of the attractions of our town.

1. The place I live in is called Vitebsk.

2. Yes, I was. I was born in this place.

3. My native town is not as big as the capital of our country, but it is a densely populated regional centre.

4. My native place is situated on the north of the republic and is famous for its great cultural heritage.

5. I like most peaceful streets of my town, picturesque banks of the river of Western Dvina and cosy outskirts full of rural landscapes.

6. Yes, they do. People in my place care about its beauty. They plant new trees to improve the environment and develop modern system of separate rubbish collection, and they should teach their children to preserve cleanness of their native place, not to pollute it with plastic bottles and other litter.

7. Yes, it did. The appearance of my place changed in the last years: the population of my native town increased and it became rather crowded. Traffic is rather heavy because the total amount of vehicles doubled. As a result we have traffic jams in rush hours.

8. Yes, they are. City-dwellers are different from countrymen because they can't feel unity with nature, observe charming beauty of the countryside. That's why, from my point of view, city-dwellers are more closed and, on the other side, countrymen are friendly and sociable. What's more, countrymen don't need to be in a hurry to be in line with fast rhythm of the city.

9. Yes, I would like. I would like to live in this place for the rest of my life because I adore this comfortable and beautiful place.
